You can protect the main domain name, as well as an unlimited number of subdomains. The certificate can be reissued for free and as many times as needed, but changing the domain name is not allowed. Comodo certificates do not have such limitations, and the domain name can be changed.
Wildcard Certificate
A Wildcard certificate means that your certificate is capable of protecting any number of subdomains, such as order.domain.tld, mail.domain.tld, autodiscover.domain.tld or any other name for any of your purposes. You will only need one IP address to install the certificate, which will save you money if you were to use multiple regular certificates.
Domain Validation Certificate
GeoTrust Certification Center allows domain validation using one of the available methods: via email, HTTP hash file, or DNS CNAME. No documents or callbacks are required.
