Data center outage: power failure in Almaty and fiber optic cable break — service restored

Updated on August 15, 2026. The consequences of the outage have been resolved: the data center’s power supply and network connectivity have been restored, and access to all resources is operating normally. All data is fully safe.

What happened

Initially, the data center on Rozybakiev Street became unavailable because of a large-scale power outage in Almaty. We temporarily restored the data center’s operation using the backup power system.

The continued operation of that system depended on our partners who maintain the site. The diesel generators were not connected in time, which interrupted the data center’s power supply again.

After the power supply was restored at the city level, it turned out that the main and backup fiber optic cables had been cut at the same time. At that stage the data center remained unreachable over the network.

About your data

All data is fully safe. The unavailability of services was caused solely by the site’s power supply and the fiber optic line break, not by the condition of the equipment or the disk arrays.

Recovery

Together with our partners, our engineers have restored the data center’s power supply and network connectivity. Access to VPS servers, websites and control panels is operating normally.
